BMW: Starting in early 2025, all BMW EVs, including those from Mini and Rolls-Royce, will feature NACS ports. Existing CCS models will also be compatible with Superchargers through adapters. BMW is also working on integrating in-car app payment and navigation for Tesla chargers.
Ford: Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning owners can access Tesla charging network with an adapter starting in spring 2024 but an adapter will be required, while New Fords built from 2025 onwards will come equipped with NACS as standard.
General Motors (GM): The second automaker to join theTesla charging network, GM will provide adapters for CCS-equipped EVs in 2024 and then transition to NACS as standard on all models from 2025 onwards. Adapters will also be available for NACS vehicles to use CCS chargers.
Hyundai: Hyundai announced plans to incorporate NACS ports into new or refreshed EVs starting in Q4 of 2024. Existing Hyundai EVs will have access to Tesla Superchargers through adapters, and new NACS-equipped models will have adapters for CCS compatibility.
Honda: Honda joins the party in 2025, equipping all new electric models with NACS ports and offering adapters for existing CCS vehicles.
Kia: Kia will begin incorporating NACS ports into new North American EVs by Q4 of 2024. Existing models (except the 2015-2019 Soul EV) will have access to adapters starting in early 2025. Kia Connect app integration for locating Tesla Superchargers is also planned with a software update.
Lexus: Following suit, Lexus will equip its electric models with NACS ports starting in 2025, granting access to the Supercharger network. Adapters will also be available for existing CCS Lexus vehicles.
Genesis: Genesis will offer NACS exclusively on its EVs starting in late 2024 (US) and 2025 (Canada). Existing CCS models will also have adapter options for both Tesla Superchargers and CCS stations.
Jaguar: Jaguar’s upcoming EVs will be NACS-compatible starting in 2025. Existing I-Pace owners will be able to use Tesla Superchargers with adapters provided by Jaguar.
Lucid: New Lucid vehicles will have NACS ports from 2025 onwards, and current models with CCS ports will be compatible with Tesla Superchargers through adapters.
Mazda: Taking a slightly different approach, Mazda will equip all new North American models with NACS ports starting in 2025. However, there’s no current mention of adapters for existing CCS vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz will equip electric models with NACS ports starting in 2025. They’ll also offer adapters for existing CCS models in 2024, allowing access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. Additionally, Mercedes is building its own fast-charging network in North America, aiming for over 2,500 stations by the end of 2024, which will also be accessible to non-Mercedes EVs.
Fisker: This new EV manufacturer will equip its upcoming models, including the Ocean SUV, Rōnin sports car, Pear hatchback, and Alaska truck, with NACS ports starting in 2025.
The list above represents a significant portion of the auto industry, but it is not complete. With the potential benefits of NACS becoming clear, more manufacturers are expected to announce their adoption in the next months and years.
